The short answer

All five cover the four TEAS 7 sections. The biggest differences are how you pay and what happens if things go wrong. ATI makes the TEAS and sells one-time packages with no refunds. Mometrix, NurseHub, Smart Edition and HealthcareExams are subscriptions that renew until you cancel. All four let you cancel from your account. HealthcareExams has a 7-day refund on the first payment. Every option has a free way to start.

Which one fits you?

You want practice tests made by the test maker

ATI. Its Practice Test Package ($69) includes ATI’s own full-length practice tests, Forms A and B.

You learn best from videos

Mometrix, NurseHub and Smart Edition each list 100 or more videos. ATI’s SmartPrep packages include 44. We don’t have videos.

You want to study in an app

ATI and Smart Edition list phone apps. Mometrix and NurseHub don’t list one on the pages we checked. HealthcareExams has no app.

You don’t want a subscription

Only ATI sells one-time packages. Mometrix, NurseHub, Smart Edition and HealthcareExams renew until you cancel, and all four let you cancel from your account.

You may want your money back

Mometrix refunds within 7 days, and HealthcareExams within 7 days of the first payment. NurseHub and Smart Edition don’t refund the first charge. ATI has no refunds.

You want to try the paid version first

HealthcareExams has a 3-day free trial, and it needs a card. Mometrix and NurseHub say they don’t offer one. ATI and Smart Edition don’t list one.

You like flashcards

HealthcareExams has 409 free cards. ATI lists 1,600 in its $199 package or for $19.99 for 30 days. Mometrix lists 310+ and Smart Edition lists hundreds in their courses.

NurseHub plans cover TEAS and HESI A2. HealthcareExams covers HESI A2, NCLEX-RN and PTCB too.

Quizlet sets and “real questions”

Anyone can post a Quizlet set. Quizlet’s terms say it can’t review all content, so check what you learn from it. Be careful with anything sold as real TEAS questions: ATI’s terms say copying or sharing any part of its assessments breaks the law. We don’t use real exam questions.

What we don’t have

  • No videos. Our lessons are short text, and 15 have step-by-step animations.
  • No phone app.
  • A smaller bank: 738 questions. The others list 1,000 or more.
  • One full practice test, with 152 of the real test’s 170 questions. The others list more.
